Business History

In 2000, Markus Lang founded SwissChallenge GmbH with the goal of making Canyoning and other outdoor activities available to a wider audience. In 2003 SwissChallenge opened a second base in Roveredo, in the former Centro Sportivo Vera. In 2004, the company became certified through Safety in Adventures - "the Blue S". In 2008, the base and the headquarters was moved to Cresciano in the Ticino Riviera. Since then SwissChallenge has become the leading organizer of canyoning and river tours in Ticino. In October 2013 Markus Lang sold the company to Fabio Marinelli and Zachary Browning. The new owners are eager to keep the reputation for quality that SwissChallenge has earned.
