Do I have to book a canyoning tour in advance?
Yes, a prior booking is imperative. We will confirm
every booking in writing with all important information.
With your booking you acknowledge our general terms and
conditions.
Can I also book as an individual?
Yes! We also cordially welcome individuals. We will
publish tour data on the Internet with available free
spaces.
Do I need previous experience?
You do not need any previous experience for Level 1 and
2 tours. We require prior canyoning experience and
independent rappelling ability for Level 3 and 4 tours.
Which requirements do I have to meet?
Good health, normal physical condition, swimming
ability, sure-footedness and freedom from vertigo will
be required for all participants in our canyoning tours.
Do I really have to be able to swim?
Yes, of course. Without swimming ability you are
definitely in the wrong place in a canyon!
Will the tour be cancelled if it rains?
As long as we are able to guarantee the safety of our
guests, the tour will not be cancelled. This
particularly applies to the trapped canyons with large
safety reserves (reservoirs). If the tour is cancelled,
we will make an effort to offer an alternative date, or
we will refund the money to you.
What happens in the event of a sudden thunderstorm?
In principle, we try to correctly grasp the weather
situation before the tour. Should a thunderstorm come up
shortly before the tour, the tour will be cancelled and
you will be offered a substitute date if possible.
Otherwise, we will refund the money to you. Should we be
surprised in the canyon by a thunderstorm, we will break
off the tour and leave the canyon via the next possible
emergency exit.
Which gear will I get?
We will provide you with professional gear consisting of
a 3-part neoprene wetsuit (long johns, jacket and body
with hood), neoprene socks, canyoning harness, helmet
and canyoning shoes.
Is the gear also clean?
Our neoprene wetsuits and socks are washed thoroughly
after every utilisation. But it can occur that the suits
are still moist on another day. However, this has no
influence on the cleanliness.
What do I have to bring along?
Swimsuit, bath towel, perhaps synthetic sports underwear
or fleece, disposable lenses for those who wear glasses,
personal medications such as asthma spray or
antiallergic preparation.
May I consume alcohol before the tour?
No! Canyoning concerns a sport to be taken seriously,
which demands full powers of concentration and ability
to react. We will turn the guest away upon any
indication of alcohol consumption. Zero tolerance!
Can I take along my photo camera?
Only if it is a waterproof model. SwissChallenge
disclaims any liability for valuables which will be
brought along on the tour.
Am I insured against an accident?
No, insurance coverage is the participant’s business.
Valid accident and health insurance – which also
includes rescue costs – is presupposed.
