Right from the start there are several abseiling points
taking you to the depths of the Pontirone Canyon. This
is followed by
a canyons of real splendour together with varied surface
tracts and impressive fissures up to 13 metres. From an
airy 42 metre abseiling point we get to the cavern-like
final stretch featuring the narrowest of points and more
great fissures. Roughly 1 hour is needed to actually get
into the canyon (hence the need to be truly fit).
Level of difficulty:
Level 3 (difficult).
Requirement:
Prior canyoning experience or knowledge of active
rappelling, good physical condition, good swimming
ability, sure-footedness and absolute freedom from
vertigo. From 16 years.
Implementation:
Daily, for groups of 4 or more people on request, from
1 June to 26 September 2010. See “free spaces” with regard to individuals and small groups.
Included: Loan material
(neoprene wetsuit, socks, canyoning harness, helmet and
shoes), round-trip bus transfer from the base in
Cresciano. Also includes introduction, care and
accompaniment through qualified canyoning guide,
beverages and interim refreshments.
