Rafting FAQ
Do I have to book a Fun Rafting tour in advance?
Yes, a prior booking is imperative. We will confirm every booking in writing with all important information. With your booking you acknowledge our general terms and conditions.

Can I also book as an individual?
No, unfortunately. We offer Fun Rafting exclusively for closed groups. The minimum number of participants is 8 people.

Do I need previous experience?
No, previous experience is not required.

Which requirements do I have to meet?
Good health and swimming ability will be required for all participants.

Is swimming in the river allowed?
Swimming is always allowed on some stretches. This is why our guides will inform you in detail about the dangers and the proper behaviour.

Will the tour be cancelled if it rains?
No, our Fun Rafting tours will be held in any weather.

What happens in the event of a sudden thunderstorm?
Should a thunderstorm come up shortly before the tour, the tour will be cancelled and you will be offered a substitute date if possible. Otherwise, we will refund the money to you. Should we be surprised on the river by a thunderstorm, we will break off the tour and leave the river via the next possible exit.

Which gear will I get?
We will provide you with professional gear consisting of a neoprene ‘shorty’ wetsuit, life vest and paddle. A helmet will be provided on the Ticino River. Moreover, we only employ officially certified and registered rafts.

What do I have to bring along?
Swimsuit, bath towel, gym or bath shoes for utilisation in the raft, sunscreen, spectacle safeguard for those who wear glasses, and personal medications such as asthma spray or antiallergic preparation.

Can a raft capsize?
That is possible, but rarely happens during Fun Rafting. Of course, you will be optimally taken care of by our guides in such situations.

How can I best arrive at the embarkation point?
Our embarkation points are selected so that you can arrive with your own vehicle as well as by means of public transportation (bus, train). If you arrive with your own car, we recommend parking your vehicle in the vicinity of the takeout point and then getting to the embarkation point by means of public transportation.

How does our luggage get to the takeout point?
Luggage transport from the embarkation point to the takeout point will be undertaken by SwissChallenge and is included in the price.

Is return transport to the embarkation point possible?
We do not offer any return transports of participants to the embarkation point. Within the realm of our possibilities (limited number of spaces) we are gladly willing to drive vehicle drivers back to the embarkation point.

May I consume alcohol before the tour?
No! We will turn away individual guests or the entire group upon any indication of alcohol consumption. Zero tolerance!

Can I take along my photo camera?
Only at your own risk. SwissChallenge disclaims any liability for valuables which will be brought along on the tour.

Am I insured against an accident?
No, insurance coverage is the participant’s business. Valid accident and health insurance – which also includes rescue costs – is presupposed.
