Canyoning Val Grande (Level 2)

Val Grande, located in Val Maggia, is an exciting canyon that features some of the best slides in Ticino. Several jumps (up to 10m) and a 25m abseil will give some variety. Val Grande is also special because the rock is so unique. Vertical bands of black and white give it a very different look from other canyons in Ticino. The approach time is approximately 30 minutes.  

Season:

Level of Difficulty:
Level 2 (medium), suitable for athletic first-timers.

Requirement:
Healthy physical condition, swimming ability, sure-footedness and freedom from vertigo. Minimum age is 14 years.

Length:
Total time approx. 6,5 hours (base-canyon-base), approximately 2,5 hours in the canyon. Val Grande is located in Val Maggia, close to Locarno and Lago Maggiore. If you are staying at a hotel or campsite in the Locarno area, you can arrange to meet us in Avegno (near the entrance to Val Maggia) so you don't have to drive to our base. Included:
Canyoning equipment (neoprene wetsuit, socks, canyoning harness, helmet and shoes), round-trip mini-bus transfer from the base in Cresciano, qualified Canyoning guide, snack and drink after the tour.
