Please note that all Level 4 tours require that all participants have been canyoning with SwissChallenge previously, or attend an abseil training class with SwissChallenge before the tour. Mastery of active abseiling techniques is required for all participants!
Heli-Canyoning (Level 4)
Our Heli-Canyoning trip is the ultimate Ticino canyoning trip for really fit and experienced Canyoners. We start with a short but spectacular helicopter flight from Lodrino airport to the landing zone at an elevation near 1100 meters. We actually fly below the level of the canyon walls, and you'll catch a glimpse of the adventure to come. Once we begin our descent, you will find a huge number of abseils (max. 45 metres), slides through natural chutes, and jumps (max. 15 metres) into narrow fissures with crystal clear pools. This is a long and varied canyon, one of the best in a canyoning region known throughout the world. The actual time in-canyon is about 6 hours. Level of Difficulty:
Level 4 (difficult to very difficult).
Requirement:
Mastery of active rappelling (all participants have been canyoning with SwissChallenge previously, or must attend an abseil training class with SwissChallenge before the tour), very good physical condition, good swimming ability, sure-footedness and absolute freedom from vertigo. Jumps up to 10 m are required. From 18 years.
Length:
Total time approx. 7.5 hours (base-canyon-base), approximately 6 hours in the canyon.
